Kashif Abdul-Karim

Imam Kashif Abdul-Karim, a graduate of the University of Connecticut, embraced Islam in May 1986 under the guidance of national leader Imam W.D. Mohammed. He has studied extensively with various imams associated with Imam W.D. Mohammed’s leadership across the United States and with local scholars in the tradition of Prophet Muhammad. With a strong focus on Islamic education, Imam Kashif has served as an Islamic Studies Teacher, a Curriculum Coordinator for Islamic education departments, and an Islamic chaplain for the State of Connecticut, supporting families during times of grief and providing religious guidance. Additionally, he has had a diverse secular career in teaching, television, human services, and law enforcement. Imam Kashif Abdul-Karim is currently the resident imam of Muhammad Islamic Center of Greater Hartford, serving a diverse population from around the world. They were dedicated leaders who embodied the principles of faith, knowledge, and service. Throughout their lives, they brought a wealth of experience and expertise in Islamic education and community development. Guided by the teachings of Imam WD Mohammed and domestic scholars, our Imams have made significant contributions to the growth and enrichment of our community. Their unwavering commitment to fostering unity, promoting knowledge, and embodying the values of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ serves as an inspiration to all.
