Dear Believers; As Salaam Alaikum
Allah has said to us in Qur’an;
O ye who believe! When the call is proclaimed to prayer on Friday (the Day of Assembly), hasten earnestly to the Remembrance of Allah, and leave off business (and traffic): That is best for you if ye but knew! 62:9
And when the Prayer is finished, then may ye disperse through the land, and seek of the Bounty of Allah. and celebrate the Praises of Allah often (and without stint): that ye may prosper. 62:10
And Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) صلى الله عليه وسلم said :
Friday is the best of days.
Rasulullah has also said :
Of all the days, Friday is the most virtuous. It is on this day that the trumpet will be blown.
And we have been reminded by Rasulullah that : There is no day more virtuous than Friday. On friday there is a particular time. If a Muslim happens to be praying and invoking Allah for something good during that time, Allah will surely fulfill his request. The Prophet pointed out with his hand. We thought that he wanted to illustrate how short that time was.
The Messenger of Allah has also said that: Friday is the "mother" of all days and the most virtuous in the sight of Allah Ta'ala. In the sight of Allah Ta'ala it has more greatness than Eid ul-Fitr and Eid ul-Ad'haa.
Finally Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) صلى الله عليه وسلم used to say that the night of Jumu’ah is a lustrous night, and the day of Jumu’ah is a lustrous day.
We are told that Friday is even a mercy for the unbelievers for every afternoon, the heat of hell is increased. However, through the blessings of Jumu’ah, this will not be done on Fridays.
As we have heard from The Qur’an and our Prophet Muhammad this is a blessed day. Salatul Jumu’ah occurs at 1:00 PM all year round. The Adhan is called at 1:00 PM and the second Adhan is called at 1:15. Iqamma is called at 1:50. We have completed our Salatul-Jumu’ah by 2:00 PM.
We get the highest reward by being first to Salatul-Jumu’ah. The angel records our attendance and closes the book to join the prayer as the Khutbah begins.
It has been narrated by Abu Huraira:
The Prophet said, When it is a friday, the angels stand at the gate of the mosque and keep on writing the names of the persons coming to the mosque in succession according to their arrivals. The example of the one who enters the mosque in the earliest hour is that of one offering a camel (in sacrifice). The one coming next is like one offering a cow and then a ram and then a chicken and then an egg respectively. When the Imam comes out (for Jumu’ah prayer) they (i.e. angels) fold their papers and listen to the Khutbah.
May Allah forgive us our sins from last Salatul-Jumu’ah to the next. In Sha Allah.
