Muhammad Islamic Center of Hartford, CT was established in 1956 as the first local Islamic Center worship place in The State of Connecticut. The Center was founded by the late Al-Hajj Malik Shabazz know popularly as Malcolm X. It is now the oldest Islamic Institution in the State of Connecticut. Since those early years, thousands have come through the doors of Muhammad Islamic Center of Hartford to hear the teachings of Islam.

We thank Allah (TA) for the courage and determination that Imam W. Deen Mohammed showed in 1975 by leading the largest body of Americans to proper worship and principles of Islam. As a result, many have experienced a human transformation, positively affecting their personal lives. The Muhammad Islamic center of Greater Hartford supporters have evolved as role models and mentors, contributing to the overall progress of the greater Hartford community.

Muhammad Islamic Center is a non-profit tax exempt, religious organization, committed to the true practice and establishment of Al-Islam. Our efforts are based on the final revelation to humanity, the Noble Qur’an, and The Sunnah of the last Prophet Muhammad Ibn Abdullah (PBUH).
